To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

DPP Day Three

I participated in my first 5k this morning. I was able to run some and walk some which is all I wanted. Well, that and crossing the finish line. I was highly amused when we got close to the end and they were yelling for me to sprint the rest of the way in...I was pretty sure I was moving at my top speed already :-) Sarah came in second place for her age division, my nephew and niece each locked in first place for their's, and my nephew-in-law managed to snag one of the t-shirts they were randomly throwing to the crowd. My Mother and sister were pleased with their finishing times and it was one great big party.
I will definitely be doing this again.
