To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

It's Christmas

And the turf wars have begun!
Sam has quite the imagination. And the kind of thing he's typically been interested in hasn't been what is typical for most boys his age. He kind of does things in his own way and on his own time table. And we're good with that.
But a milestone was reached today. We knew it was coming as Sam has begun to wrestle and do other man child warrior stuff and it was a particularly satisfying moment when he ripped the wrapping paper off to reveal his first weapon.
The nerf gun battle is on. And father and son are both really enjoying it.

I'm Gonna Get You!

Rob may have better aim but the stamina is all on Sam's side :-)

Awesome! Wish we were there to see the event. I bet Sam is thoroughly enjoying it. And Rob too - I'll have my boys and Ryan bring ours when we come over next.

Jesse also got his first nerf gun today. Not quite as dangerous as the lollypop 2nd Sam gave him though.
I was slimed with a sticky red substance.

After enjoying a battle myself, I realize that we may need a few more guns :-)
Having your men folk brings theirs will awesome too.
And a lollipop in the hand of a little one could probably stop a bank robbery or high jacking.
