To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

Rambling Thoughts From The Road

My kids are awesome travelers. We drove until almost midnight and they did great.

Somewhere in Georgia we drove under New Born Road bypass. It also crosses over Hard Labor Creek. I found this to be amusing.

Georgia has lots of pretty creeks and rivers.

State Troopers are very deligent during the holiday season. (We did not find this out first hand thankfully.)

There are no Whataburger's in Georgia.

There are no Whataburger's in South Carolina.

There are no Whataburger's in North Carolina.

There are, however, Wendy's. A direct quote, "So, basically you will have seven drinks?"

We were also tickled by the sign on the men's restroom door at the DQ..."Completely out of order."

So far, we've had a lovely visit. Abby was in the house for all of ten seconds before requesting a cooking session with Granny Deb. Granny Deb who cooks everything from scratch. The cookies alone are delicious.

Something tells me my diet is in the tank.
