To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

One of my favorite things about this time of year is seeing all the warm, glowing lights. Windows that are nomally shut up tight are now open for the warmth of seasons to seep out.
And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. ~Dr. Seuss

you know, i think Dr. Seuss may have been on to something when he wrote that.

maybe that's why i like that story so much, because in the end it's not about what we GET but what we GIVE to and SHARE with others.

it's interesting when things like that pop up in the secular world...hmmmm...
