To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

Wrapping Up the Week

It's finally Friday...yea! To be honest it wasn't a bad week. I think what made it easier was the reminder on Monday about what's important. Oh, yea and remembering to breathe :-)
So Sam and Claire had a good week. It is hilarious watching them develop more of a relationship now that the girls are gone during the day. It is the sweetest thing to see him helping her onto the swing and giving her pushes...he always checks to make sure she isn't going too high. Here you can see how we combine art and Spanish class together for a mucho fun learning time (please note that his self portrait is giving the i love you sign :-)
Claire ate...uhmm, did art too...

My favorite of Sam's work is this
one he did of the three of us:

The school girls all had a good week. Sarah missed a day due to her allergies but she's fine now. She also received 29 out of a possible 30 points on her omnibus test...her teacher was particularly proud of her essay questions. You know this pleased her Daddy no end. Emmie is working hard on a culture kit for Spain and her class presentation next Friday. Did you know that there is a city there that has a food fight each year? Seriously, it started with two people actually fighting in the market years ago and evolved into an annual tomato throwing event. Abby practically vibrates each night showing off her school work to us. She recieved a 100 for her first Scripture recitation...she sounds so absolutely stinkin' cute quoting Psalm 1.
Tonight I have girls night planned with some uber sweet friends from church...we're doing a portrait session with one of them and then we're heading to downtown Pensacola for Gallery Night...I am so excited!
Tomorrow morning promises to be nice and quiet but in the afternoon we will be off and running with the Fall Festival at the school and then more picture sessions...some bridals of my niece who is getting married next week (!!) and I also get to do some fun photos for a group of kids heading to homecoming for Pace High School.
Then...Sunday...I am looking forward to being in coporate worship with our church is the highlight of my week. This will be especially nice because our friends the White's will be in town house hunting. We are looking forward to them moving here for a gazillion different reasons but mainly because we love them :-)
May your weekend be blessed by laughter and joy.
See ya on Monday!
