To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

So It Begins...

Remember the post a few weeks back about the bathroom remodel? Well, it has finally begun. My uber sweet friend Lauren and her wonderfully kind husband showed up a little past nine this morning and got to work. A few swings of the hammer later and there were holes in my walls. It was good-bye to the ugly towel rack and unused medicine cabinet. Hasta la vista to the useless ceramic soap holder and toothbrush holder that doesn't hold modern day size toothbrushes. So long to the toilet paper holder that only a contortionist could easily reach. And a great, big, joyful "ADIOS!" to the shower doors! Do you people have any idea what is under those? In the places that you cannot clean? It's gross! It's yuck! It's this...

Disgusting! But, it has all been bleached away and glue has been scraped off and we are door free. Can you imagine how much easier it will be to bath Claire?!

Here are a few more before pics...I'll post more as we go along because frankly I know you are all waiting with baited breath for updates :-)

Tomorrow we sand some more and add a little more mud. And hopefully look for fun things like new cabinet handles and a toilet paper holder thingy. Redoing is fun stuff...loud, noisy, wear you out fun stuff.
