To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

With Thankfulness

"Thank you for doing your will and doing it well." That was a prayer offered in Rob's hospital room yesterday. Sweet prayers for comfort, peace and reminders of trust were also voiced. Love and kindness was showered upon our family in other forms like personal visits, phone calls, emails, dinner, groceries and babysitters. Our family is well and truly blessed and it is abundantly clear that should needs arise we have a multitude of people who are willing to come to our aide.
Now for some the idea may come that our family is somehow special or that we must do something extra to earn such friendship and loving care. But the truth is...we don't. The truth is that this is the way a community of believers...the body of Christ...should be with one another. After having such a beautiful demonstration of Christian community come alive for our family my heart is saddened to think of all those who never experience that in their own communities much less within their own bickering, pitiful churches.
Rob came home today and tomorrow we will meet with the neurologist. I don't know what we will learn in the days ahead but I can rejoice...for all the reasons listed above...for the opportunity to serve Him in this new way...He is indeed working His will and doing it well.

I'm so relieved to hear Rob is doing well. I'll be thinking of you and your family. Please remember to ask many questions, even write them down as you think of them and take them to the md office. Please feel free to write or call me or have Becky call me if you need anything. Good luck!

We are praying for your family as you go through the tests, and the waiting for answers. I know you have a heart to accept whatever God has prepared for Rob, but we will pray that God sees fit to glorify himself in Rob's health and complete recovery!
