To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

What's Up With Us

Hello everyone! We are still part of the land of the living...just doing a lot of living I guess. School is moving right along...Sarah loves the classes on the computer and maintains an "A" in each course. Science is her favorite and I really enjoy the geography class.
Sam and Abigail are both working on their numbers...they work well together although Sam has a tendency to blurt out the answers. We are enjoying some really good library books and fun stories. One of their favorite activities is a fun little thing I picked up at Target as an extension for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"...it's one of those sticker sets that you can reuse. They have wonderful memories and can just about set up the whole story and offer a dramatic rendition for anyone who'll listen.
Emily hates Math but is buzzing right along with her reading...the Nate the Great detective stories are her favs. And anything about horses. She absolutely loves Spelling and will complete as many activities as I can give her. I think she takes after her Daddy.
Now for our big news...Claire started walking yesterday! At ten months she is my earliest walker taking four and five steps at a time. I figure in a week or so she'll be zipping around the house. I'm also hoping the extra activity will wear her down a bit and we can both get a little more sleep at night.
So that pretty much catches y'all up on what we've been doing. The girls have been making cookies and capturing the process in pictures so I'm sure there will be a post soon about that. Scroll on down and take a look at the slide show as Sammy makes his own breakfast.
More later!
